WASAAWIS (stray shaitaani thoughts)

Everyone's mind wanders during Salaat.Shaitaan is bound to whisper into the mind.We are living in a world of corruption and contamination. We associate in evil and indulge in much futility. It is not possible to totally prevent thoughts from entering into the mind. The mind is like a public road, where all types of people walk. The Mashaa-ikh advise that the best way in which to combat such stray thoughts is to ignore them.

When thoughts enter the mind, don't be worried about them.Let them come. Only try to deflect the mind by thinking about something which does not break Salaat, e.g. start thinking of the Ka'bah or try to concentrate on the words you are reciting.Think about Jannah and Jahannum.

But don't become perturbed by the thoughts. As long as you don't introduce thoughts intentionally, there is nothing to be worried about. The more you worry ,the more the thoughts will enter your mind, because shaitaan derives pleasure in annoying the Mu'min.

Also saying " Aman tu billah hi " or " La hola wala quwata illah Billah " or " A ooz u billah hi minush shaitan nir rajim " are very very help ful and recommended by the Prophet himself.
